I love using Craig & Rose 1829 Chalky Emulsion and their period colours. I used Deep Sung Cream on my hall stairs and landing. It's about £24 for 2.5 litres but it's pigment is so dense it covers great, and I've also used it to mix with eggshell to make my own furniture paint. This time I used Craig & Rose 1829 Chalky Emulsion in the authentic Elizabethan shade of Saxe Blue...
The mirror was given to me by my Mum which I painted in in white eggshell and the blind is a faux-Roman which I made a couple of years ago. in a remnant of Laura Ashley fabric.
I recently bought some cards of old British Rail posters from the 1950s of my favourite places and have reused an Ikea frame and hung it above the cistern...
Just 'glossing' of door and skirting boards to finish tomorrow morning!
It looks gorgeous. Our downstairs loo is in a similar state - we hung a low mirror for the girls to use when they were younger and it's still there even though Big Sis is at university! Love the colour x Jane
ReplyDeleteIf you fancy popping round to mine Sally I have a spare bedroom crying out for decorating!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour for the walls and the blind is perfect. I can understand your need to pare things down. Big changes underway for you anyway. It sometimes does you good to do it. Hope you are okay. We must get together soon for coffee and cake?! XX
Looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely
ReplyDeleteIt looks good. There's nothing like a fresh lick of paint and a few knick knacks to freshen up a room.

The postcards and blind go beautifully with the shade of paint you've chosen. I hope that you get a chance to have some 'quiet time' over the holiday too! Jx
ReplyDeleteThat looks very calm and pleasing Sally, I like that type of chalky paint and I recently heard about and saw some Annie Sloan which looked equally fab
