~Judy's Vintage Digest~

If you get a chance, please have a look at Issue 2 of the fab online read 'Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair Vintage Digest' here, or click on the link in my sidebar. So happy to have my little blog on Page 33, as the chosen blog for York on the Vintage Bloggers Map...
I was contacted back in January by the very talented group of final year students from the University of Huddersfield working with Judy's to produce the vintage digest for their final year project.  As I'm sure you know, Judy's Affordable Vintage Fairs are held up and down the UK see Judy's website for upcoming events.
I'm impressed with the content - it's far more informative and well-written than many other vintage magazines I've read.  I love the layout, graphics and I'm smitten by the paper-scrunching sound when you turn the online pages...
I love the article on vintage afternoon teas and also about Glass Onions vintage wholesalers in Barnsley.
The next Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair Leeds date is 22nd March at The Corn Exchange 10.30 - 6pm and the next York date is 23rd March at The Hospitium, Museum Gardens 10.30 - 4.30 (see you there York vintage lovers).

~Fabric Notice Board~

The Summer holidays are here and I'm tackling one day at a time, decorating, cleaning, planning and generally sorting out. I have separated from my husband, who is moving out to a flat nearby this week; all reasonably amicable but nonetheless upsetting and difficult.
Today I'm off to the Yorkshire seaside; my favourite East Coast - Hornsea, Skipsea, Bridlington and Filey to have a few days with J and my Mum. Can't wait to blow the cobwebs off!
This week I gave the kitchen a quick spruce up and wanted to cover my cork noticeboard. The wonders of the t'internet never disappoint for a free tutorial - I found mine here on Mary Poppins blog - and set to work sing some Clarke and Clarke Dotty fabric I had left over from kitchen blinds. I used brassed paper fasteners rather than tacks and used white grosgrain ribbon (about 6 metres) plus some wadding that cost £2. Here's the finished result...

~Happy Birthday~

Firstly thankyou so much for all your lovely comments on my last post and to new followers too!
Not sure where time this half-term is going to - I know I'm fortunate to work term-time only but it's hard to get anything practical or creative done when the kids are off too. Whinge over...
Yesterday was my birthday! We had a family day of lunch at Pizza Express then the joy of seeing the new Muppet movie. I loved the Muppets as a child of the 70s, and the theme tune brought nostalgic tears to my eyes.
I baked myself a chocolate cake with cherry jam and fresh cream...
Multiply the candles by 7, and you will have the correct number!
My favourite card, courtesy of one of my brothers. What is he insinuating?!
Generous gifts from lovely friends and family...A new CK bag...
Enough smellies for the next 12 months!

Some seeds...

Some beads...
...And a lovely read!

Lovely presents - I am very lucky.
My mood definitely lifts when I reach mid-February...the sun is out today, I hope it's warmer where you are too.  I'm off to do a bit of gardening now!
