As well as the vintage baubles, I love these glass robins I bought this year.
Lovely berry-laden holly from mature trees at work *ahem* with a precious inherited wooden box that was my Home Economics teacher's sewing box...
I love the fragrance of this 'Silent Night' reed diffuser from Next...
...and finally marzipan fruits! I love them, they remind me of my Nana, the1970s and Christmases full of advocaat Snowballs ... Both me and daughter L find all things almond and marzipan the pinnacle of indulgence, so these will be savoured!
These lovely ones were from the gorgeous sweet shop Florence Wren on Bootham in York.
Happy Christmas everyone x
Happy Christmas Sally, I have the same memories as you with the marzipan fruits and snowballs and nana, although mine always had those jelly oranges and lemons too, oh and do you remember those Newbury fruits with a gooey bit in the middle. Happy days eh! x
ReplyDeleteOh yes marzipan just is Christmas, and 'a snowball' (just the one mind you!), and as Patty says above those Newbury Fruits! Looks like you're ready for a wonderful Christmas x Jane
ReplyDeleteI love marzipan too Sally! So many things bring back memories of christmasses past for me. Definitely snowballs, we used to always have those. Do you remember the crystallised fruits too, we always had those, chocolate smoking sets, liquorice selection box(saw some of those at a local farm shop recently but when I went back they had sold out), oh and we always got a tin of toffees, in those tins with cute little animals on (that sell for a small fortune nowadays).
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas Sally and hope to see you in the New Year.
Just lovely, we are in York tomorrow to see Santa, I might just have to purchase some marzipan fruits
